Getaway Phone Game

Getway Phone Game for Direct Sales Parties

These days most guests come to my parties with their phone. Which is awesome because I have this easy and fun ice-breaker game you can play.

Start by asking the guests to grab their phone and bring up a photo that was taken on a holiday, special outing, trip or getaway.

They can grab it from their camera roll or from their Facebook or Instagram.

It usually takes them a few minutes to bring up a photo so I like to move things along by throwing some small wrapped candies to the first three people that are ready to play. That usually encourages the rest to choose quickly.

Make sure they have some paper to track their points on (you can hand out pieces of paper or perhaps you have already given them a wish list they can use).

Getaway Phone Game - Direct Sales Icebreaker

Next you’ll read out some things that might be in their photo and they can earn points for them. You use the game sheet (download below) for the points. Don’t read every single item, that would make the game too long!

At the end guests add up their points and you can declare a winner and a “winner in reverse” (the person with the lowest score).

Make sure you have a small prize ready for the person with the highest score and the person with the lowest score.

I love this game because it’s a great ice breaker, it gets a few laughs and people often share memories and stories of their getaway so people get to know each other quickly. This game sets a great ‘tone’ for the party!

What you need to play the Getaway Game

  • Game sheet (download below)
  • 2 Small prizes (one for the winner and one for the ‘loser’)
  • Wrapped candies (optional)
  • Pens and paper for the guests to track their score

How to capitalize on Easter for your direct sales business

How to capitalize on easter for your direct sales business

Do you want to have an eggcelent Easter this year? (sorry, couldn’t resist a cheesy pun)

In this article I have 5 ideas for you to capitalize on Easter in your direct sales or party plan biz.

1. Booking Incentives

Create an Easter-themed booking incentive by adding some brightly colored Easter eggs with a product and/or a bottle of wine. Wrap this all up with a pretty ribbon and some cellophane. The trick to making booking incentives like this work for you is to make them look beautiful and enticing.

Offer these incentives to guests who book a party in April or in the week before Easter – whatever dates you want to highlight in your calendar. Adding some cute Easter eggs really adds to the visual appeal of your incentive and strengthens your seasonal theme.

Promote your Easter theme at parties and your social media.

2. Guessing Competition

This is a great little game that you can play in-home or online (or both).

Fill a jar with mini Easter eggs to create a guessing competition where people guess the number of eggs in the jar.

You can use this an icebreaker at your in-home parties by taking it along and putting it on your display. Also take a good photo of the jar and post it on your social media for an online competition in your customer group or on your business page.

You’ll need a prize for the winners and you can also give away the jar itself as a prize at your last in-home party (or online) before Easter.

3. Chocolate Games

How to make the most of Easter in your direct sales business. Read the 5 quick and easy tips!

Easter is a great opportunity to use a Chocolate theme in your parties. As you know I love themes – themes really help your parties to stand out and it will help you to get more bookings.

I have a fun chocolate game you can download here but I’ve also got a host coaching trick and chocolate game combination called “Chocolate Extravaganza” that you can read about here.

4. Facebook Tiles

If you’re running any Facebook parties in April, you’ll want to add some Easter-themed games to your parties. Also add some tiles to your business page and customer groups to add some seasonal fun and engagement.

Read this article on how to increase interaction and grab the free Easter-themed Facebook games.

5. Customer Love

Our aim with our direct sales businesses should be to be remarkable. And little things like having a bowl of Easter eggs at the ‘check-out’ at your parties makes you stand out.

I also like to pop in a few mini Easter eggs with my deliveries in the weeks leading up to Easter. Small thoughtful gestures like these make you remarkable!

Your Secret Weapon

Title: The #1 Secret Weapon for Your Direct Sale Business

When I was looking to boost my direct sales business I realized that successful direct sellers were doing this one thing that I didn’t do at all.

Once I started doing this, my direct sales parties and online events changed overnight!

So what is that #1 secret weapon?

Games.

It’s playing games at your parties.

I know it might sound like such a little thing you might do in a party to add a bit of fun. But as it turns out, it’s a powerful way to boost your business.

Why Games Work

  1. They increase the fun-factor. This leads to more bookings and new team members.
  2. Games make you more relaxed at in-home parties too. It’s a great tool for shy or introvert party plan consultants.
  3. People tend to mentally protect themselves from marketing messages or being sold to. But games relax that mechanism because they’re having fun. That means this that games are a great tool to get your booking or recruiting messages across.
  4. Games really boost interaction in your Facebook parties. This leads to increased exposure of your posts so your party is more successful.
  5. Games help guests who don’t know each other to get to know each other, which helps them to relax and have more fun.

Psychologist Anders Hejdenberg said that “games are a way of having fun regardless of our current life situation”.

Relax Your Guests

Games help your party guests to relax, unwind and have fun.  They can forget about their day-to-day stress for a moment. And while they’re having fun you can make sure that you get your offers across to them.

Pinterest: The #1 Secret Weapon for your Direct Sales BusinessStrengthen Your Themes

Games can also help to strengthen your themes because you can tie your games to your theme. And the more you use themed parties, the more repeat bookings you’ll get because you can always offer something new and different for your guests.

Boost Facebook Parties

For Facebook parties games are a great way to increase interaction in the event. And the more likes, reactions and comments you get, the more guests will see your party’s posts. And with your posts popping up regularly in their Newsfeed, your Facebook party will be more successful. (Read more about this in this article.)

Halloween Party Game

Title: Halloween Party Game

Themes are the best way to get (repeat) bookings because your events will always be different and never boring. (More on themes here.)

Halloween is a fabulous opportunity for a themed party. Here are some ideas:

  • For your display you can add some Halloween props.
  • You can also look at your product range, perhaps there certain products in your range that pair well with autumn or pumpkin, or black /orange and you can highlight those.
  • Buy some Halloween candy for little prizes for your games.
  • Play Halloween-themed games.

I usually go into ‘Halloween mode’ 2-3 weeks before Halloween and promote specific dates I have available for my annual Halloween events.

One of the things I love to do is to play Halloween games at my parties. And the Spooky Drawing Game is one of my faves because it always gets a good laugh.

Spooky Drawing Game

Pinterest: Spooky Drawing Game

This game is a drawing game and guests play it with their eyes closed as they follow your instructions (download below).

The game can be played at in-home or Zoom parties.

All you need is a pen and paper for each guest and a prize for the winner (and perhaps the ‘loser’).

There is a points system so it’s easy to pick a winner.

To play, all you need to do is read the drawing instructions. Make it fun and don’t go too fast, they need a chance to draw but also don’t go too slow because that makes it boring and annoying.

At the end you ask guests to open their eyes and show their drawings. This is generally very funny and you’ll get lots of laughs. To score, you read out the points for each element of the drawing. Guests add up the points and a winner is then declared.

I’ve got the instructions and point system prepared for you, just download them below by filling in the form.

What’s On Your Phone Game

Title: What's On Your Phone Game

Today I have another game for your games collection: The “What’s On Your Phone” game.

This game is a variation of the “What’s In Your Handbag” game that I used to play. But over time I’ve noticed most people come to events or parties with just a phone, credit card and keys. What else does a girl need?

The best thing about this game is that you win too: you can make the most of this game by asking people to text you in a race or get them to join your customer group on Facebook!

How to play the “What’s On Your Phone” Game

As with all games, I have a little prize for the winner and often for the loser too (but I like to call it ‘winner in reverse’ to make it a little less harsh.)

All guests need to play is a smartphone, a piece of paper and a pen. I’ve created  a free downloadable scoring sheet that you can use in your parties (download below).

What's On Your Phone is a fun and useful direct sales party game

I play by reading out each item (eg. “If you have a selfie on your phone, give yourself 1 point”) and the guests keep track of their points on the piece of paper that you’ve handed them.

One of the ways that guests can get points is by a text race. Whoever texts you within 30 seconds gets 20 points. This way they’ll all have your phone number in their phone!

Encourage the guests to save the number with your company name first, followed by your first name in their contact list, that way they can find you easily even if they can’t remember your name!

Another way guests can get points is by liking your Facebook business page or join your VIP group. And this is how you win: these new customers now become part of your customer community and you can continue to build a relationship with them.

This game is fun to play in in-home parties, but you can easily adapt it for play in online parties too.

Chocolate Game

Title: Chocolate Game

Themes are always a great idea for your direct sales business. The more ‘themed’ you can make your parties, the better.

Why?

With different themes you give people another reason to re-book with you. As each party and product demonstration is so different, guests and hosts won’t get bored. They’ll want to try out the different themes and have a ‘new’ party every time.

Some product offerings are really easy to structure into themes. With others you have to work a little harder to make them into a theme party. However, some themes are universal.

Like chocolate.

For my “Chocoholics” theme party  I encourage the host to offer chocolate snacks. I always bring more chocolates to the party because I use chocolates as prizes and as booking incentives .

And most importantly, I play the Chocolate Game throughout the party.

Chocolate Game

Play this direct sales party game with your chocoholic guests for fun and engagement.

The chocolate game is fun and easy and gets all the guests engaged and involved throughout the entire presentation because they’re never quite sure when I’m going to give them another chance to win a chocolate prize.

I keep a list of chocolate clues handy and I read out 2 or 3 clues at a time throughout the party. When someone yells out the correct chocolate to match a clue, I throw them a chocolate prize.

All you need to play is a bag of mixed, wrapped chocolates and the list of clues (download below). And, of course, a bunch of chocoholics as guests!

Points Game

Title: Points Game

I love having access to a range of different games to play at my direct selling parties.

It’s important to keep things interesting and fresh for repeat guests. You don’t want people to feel like “I’ve seen one of her parties, I’ve seen them all…” because then they won’t feel like booking again with you in the future.

Besides, I don’t want to do the same thing all the time either! By varying the parties and games, I keep myself enthusiastic and passionate too.

How to Play the Points Game

The Points Game is easy to prepare for. All you need is some small pieces of paper and some pens. (In a pinch, you can use the back of your paper order forms. I had to do this once because I had forgotten to bring paper….). You’ll also need one or two small prizes.

Play this easy and fun game at your direct sales parties.

To play all you need to do is read out the story (download the printable below) while the guests keep track of their points as you go.

The person who has the most points at the end wins a small prize. I usually also have a prize for the person with the least points . I call them the ‘winner in reverse’ rather than the ‘loser’, because it’s nicer (and I usually get a chuckle too).

I hope you have fun with this game at your parties. Let us know in the comments how you got on.

Pass the Gift

Title: Party Game: Pass the Gift

Pass the Gift is my all time favorite party game!

It’s easy to do, it’s low-stress and it’s a great way to involve all the guests, whether they know each other or not.

What you need

  • A gift
  • The Pass the Gift rhyme (download below)

The gift can be anything you like. If your company has samples available, that would make a great gift, or some cheaper products, or even chocolates or candles or something similar.

I usually have a few small gift bags handy so I can quickly create a gift and I’m ready to go.

How to Play

All you have to do is read out the rhyme and together with the group decide who should get the gift next. It’s a little bit like the children’s game Pass the Parcel. But with less wrapping.
The game works very well as an ice-breaker at the start of your parties.

Grab the rhyme below:

If you try this game at your next party, let us know in the comments how you went!

Chocolate Extravaganza

Title: Chocolate Extravaganza (a direct sales party game and host coaching trick)

Oh. My. God. Chocolate Extravaganza is the best game for your direct sales business because it has a serious amount of chocolate and it’s a hostess coaching technique – all in one neat package!

This game can be used in any party plan or direct sales event that’s in-home, no matter what your products are.

It also lends itself to a chocolate theme for your party.

Hostess coaching with chocolate

Some hosts are a bit hesitant about reminding their guests of the upcoming direct sales party.

But by playing Chocolate Extravaganza it makes it fun for them to contact their guests as it adds a bit mystery to the call. And we all like a bit of mystery…

What you need

  • Chocolate Extravaganza scoring sheet (download below)
  • Optional: social media tile (download below) to advertise your new game online or to send to guests.

How to play

A day or two before the party, you contact your hostess and ask her to call her guests to ask them to bring a chocolate bar to the party. It doesn’t matter what kind.

For the mystery part: Don’t tell your host what you’re planning.

She will now contact her guests with the request, thereby reminding them of the party. She won’t know why you need the chocolates so that’s going to add a layer of mystery.

Add chocolate to your direct sales parties with this game and host coaching trick.

At the party, you will get everybody to bring out their chocolate bar and using the scoring sheet you allocate points for things like is it dark chocolate, does it have nuts, does it have caramel, etc.

At the end they count up the scores and the person with the highest score gets Chocolate Extravaganza as they get all the bars.

Download the scoring sheet and images below.

Let me know how you got on with the game in the comments. I love hearing about how you make games and tips your own!

Party games are like a secret weapon for your in-home and online direct sales parties. I have an exclusive bundle for you with everything you need for 26 games. The bundle includes Facebook games as well as in-home games. Check it out here.

Party Game: Pop the Bloon

Party Game: Pop the Bloon

You can use the “Pop the Bloon” party game to add some excitement while at same time running an incentive in your direct sales events.

This party game is basically a raffle with a bang and can be used for in-home parties and with a bit of adjustment for Zoom or Facebook parties as well.

To play you need:

  • A prize from your business
  • 5 Balloons in the same color
  • 5 Small pieces of the paper of the same color or size

Before the party will need to decide whether you want to incentivize orders over a certain amount or rather party bookings.

At the party, explain to the guests that they can go into the raffle for a really good prize (display the prize if you can) when they meet the conditions (eg. orders over $100 or a party booking). Only the first 5 (or whatever number works for your business) will go in the draw.

When someone books a party or has a high enough order, you put their name on one of the pieces of paper. When you have all the pieces of paper filled out, you roll them up. Put one name in each balloon and blow the balloons up.

You (or the host or guest of honor, for example) choose just 1 balloon to pop. Then pop the balloon with some excitement. The person whose name was in that balloon wins the prize!

You can use this clever game to incentivize bookings for parties, or specific types of parties (Facebook parties, in-home parties, zoom parties, etc.), to get higher orders, orders for certain product ranges, or anything else that works in your business.

To make it even more fair, use balloons of the same color.

Social Media Tiles

To help you promote this incentive, I’ve created a few social media tiles for you that you can use on your Facebook or Insta accounts.
